Dottie Warrington

Dottie Warrington, Friend from Hill Country Monthly Meeting, died at age 101, almost 102, in Blanco TX on March 13, 2019. Dottie is remembered for her long service as registrar at SCYM sessions, especially her warm, welcoming smile to each of us when we arrived.

There was a memorial service at the Blanco Library on Thursday April 4 at 11am. The family was grateful that three Friends attended, Jane Houser, Mary Hampton and Liz Yeats. Many fond memberoies were shared of Dottie and the work she and Don did both in Blanco and around the world.

Workshops for FGC Gathering 2019 Selected

Workshop for the FGC Gathering 2019, Peace in Our Hearts. Justice in the World, to held be under the care of SCYM from June 30 to July 8, 2019 in Grinnell, Iowa have been selected. A committee of SCYM Friends and others worked tirelessly over a weekend in November to choose the very best workshops from the many excellent ones submitted. SCYM Friends host 2019 FGC Gathering: Summary and links to some Sessions

Many SCYM Friends attended the 2019 Gathering, June 30th to July 6th at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, including most of the hard working members of our 2019 Gathering Planning Committee. Thanks to them and many other Friends, a blessed and fun time was had by all. The co-clerks, Jan Michael and Liz Yeats, thank all these Friends and hope those who couldn't make it will enjoy some of the links of the events that took place during the week.

2019 Annual SCYM Sessions Theme and Workshop Request

2019 SCYM Annual Sessions will take place April 18-21 at Greene Family Camp, Bruceville, TX. This year's theme is Knowing, Being, Doing . Workshops will focus on Knowing and Doing while the overarching theme will be about Being (turning inward to the Light), from the queries in the Home Groups, Epistles that are read, Worship Sharing as well as much attention to Worship in general.

We invite you to offer a workshop on Knowing (something you are passionate about) or Doing (an activity that you are doing or aware of) that inspires your life. Contact Rich Corl at workshops@scym.org. Workshop Deadline: If you would like to offer a workshop, please submit a written description of your topic and include your space and equipment needs. Please send your information to workshops@scym.org. We must have your submission NO LATER THAN MARCH 8^th for consideration.
