From the General Secretary of Friends General Conference (FGC):
Dear Friends:
As many of you know, FGC has an on-going relationship with Everence, a non-profit financial services organization grounded in in the Mennonite tradition. Colin Saxton, the former General Secretary of FUM and now a Stewardship Consultant for Everence to the Quaker community, shared with me that financial counseling is available to Friends through Everence in partnership with Lutheran Social Services (LSS). Colin shared that up to six counseling calls are free of charge. While I don t know anyone personally who has used this service, many Friends have had good experiences with Everence overall. During this crisis, there may be Friends who have lost jobs or whose income may be reduced and they need financial counseling. If you feel there may be a need in your Yearly Meeting, please feel free to share this offer. Information about Everence can be had at https://www.everence.com/ Even if Friends don t use Everence, this may remind them that services of this type exist and they might seek them out.
In Service,
Barry Crossno, General Secretary fo Friends General Conference
