From Barry Crossno, General Secretary of Friends General Conference
Dear Friends,
From what you ve all reported and what I ve seen the great majority of our Quaker meetings have reacted quickly to guard the health of Friends. It could be reinforcing and reassuring for some Friends to see this message from the National Council of Churches that all churches are encouraged to shift. A moving excerpt is below. FGC is posting it to our Facebook page.
For the sake of God s love, it is important and urgent that we adapt our modes of worship and fellowship to the needs of this time of pandemic infection, in order to avoid the risk of becoming sources of viral transmission rather than means of grace, stated the global ecumenical leaders.
Friends Committee National Legislation (FCNL) is looking for SCYM local Meetings' input in determining legislative priorities for the 117th Congress.
You can find everything for the 2020 priorities process, including downloads and links for submission, at fcnl.org/priorities.
We are the Quaker grounding for FCNL and they need our discernment to be emailed or entered in to a survey format (or mailed to FCNL) by April 10, 2020.
Fort Worth and San Antonio Monthly Meetings have already submitted theirs. Way to go! Contact Christine Ashley for further assistance! cashley@fcnl.org | (515) 864-9747.

An 18-month, four-residency (first is fall of 2020 at Ben Lomond Center in California) providing participants an extended experience of deepening understandings of the importance of Scriptural Literacy, Spiritual Disciplines, Authentic Spiritual Community, and Historical Gratefulness in the Quaker faith tradition. Our language is Christian, though we recognize that human language can never fully express the reality of the Divine and all vocabularies are welcome. Leaders are Deborah Fisch, Deborah Shaw, and Lloyd Lee Wilson.
