In 1995 at SCYM Annual Sessions Friend Kjell Johansen made an hour long video of Friends from all over the yearly meeting who were present at the beginnings of Southwest Friends Conference and South Central Yearly Meeting. Quaker Parenting Initiative announces their new website: www.quakerparenting.org, their effort to better meet the needs of Quaker parents. As we all know, Quakerism with its beliefs, testimonies and practices can give parents guidance and a sense of meaning to their parenting. Realizing that parents are going to the internet to find answers to their parenting questions, we restructured our website to meet their needs. One section of the web site is dedicated to an ongoing collection of Quaker resources related to parenting and another is a place where parents can meet virtually to raise questions and share experiences. Check it out!

Our 2021 South Central Yearly Meeting is fast upon us! We will again meet virtually this year, with all sessions being held via Zoom. The schedule includes the usual activities of worship, business meetings, worship sharing, workshops, keynote speech and Fireside Chat, panel discussion, Peace & Justice forum, and yes, even a virtual variety show!
